Hello and welcome to the official production journal for WHEN COTTON BLOSSOMS, an independent film produced by The Flipbook Moving Picture Company of East Lansing, Michigan.

This film tells the inspirational story of Dr. Laurence C. Jones, who had only a few clean shirts, a bible, some textbooks, and $1.65 to his name when he stepped off the train in Braxton, Mississippi in 1909.

He came with a dream of helping the "forgotten children of his race" overcome their poverty and lack of education and, despite overwhelming odds, his dream became The Piney Woods Country Life School, which has been changing the world... one student at a time... ever since.
